Brugse Zot Dubbel 33cl

"An easy drinking and mild flavored Dubbel that also stays true to the style. The pour brings a deep amber colour, just shy of solid brown and a blanket of tan-stanined head that retains and laces fairly well. Aromas of deep toffee, plums, dates, figs, and red grapes come to the forefront while mild chocolates, butterscotch, and cashew notes follow closely behind. A very sweet and succulent scent. Very tasty toffees, mild chocolates, and nuttiness fuel the taste while the peripheries are decorated with plums, grapes, raisons, apples, and cherries- all in medium intensity and not the big flavours that are expected of the Trappist varieties. Hop flavors give a fine mint impression while the bitterness remains low. Lighter in body, the beer continues it's conservative trend with a medium creamy texture early on and with a fleeting dryness in the end because of the alcohols and light sugar content, but without showing much grain or thinning textures. A delicious Dubel, but the flavors and textures fall on the lighter side for the style, never mind authentic Belgian interpretations."
