It is widely considered one of the most authentic examples of the style, as the brewery is owned by Prince Luitpold of Bavaria, a direct descendant of the royal family that once held the exclusive right to brew wheat beer in the region. König Ludwig Weissbier Hell pours a naturally cloudy, glowing amber-gold with a massive, rocky white foam head that lingers. The aroma is classic and intense, leading with fruity banana and clove-like spice, alongside a hint of bubblegum and sweet wheat bread. On the palate, it feels incredibly creamy and full-bodied, delivering a rich "yeast-forward" flavour profile of ripe banana, honeyed malt, and a touch of tart citrus. The finish is smooth and effervescent, with almost no hop bitterness, leaving a refreshing and slightly sweet, spicy aftertaste.
