(Islay) Mac-Talla Terra Single Mlat Whisky 70cl

Single malt Scotch whisky from an undisclosed distillery on the legendary isle of Islay, released by the Morrison family - a name which has been in the Scotch whisky sphere for many, many moons now. This particular expression, named Mac-Talla Terra (Mac-Talla means "echo" in Scottish Gaelic, while Terra relates to earth), was aged in American oak casks, and offers up plenty of richly smoky peat notes. Nose: Warm hay, dusty furniture, turf, pear, just a smidge of sea breeze. Palate: Black pepper earthiness, with wave after wave of peat smoke, softly balanced by hints of sweet vanilla. Finish: Oaky cinders remain on the finish.
