BenRiach has a large range of styles of whiskies to choose from. As the name suggests, this is from their Peated Malt collection. Peat from the mainland is quite different from the islands with more earth and grassy notes. The peat smoke on the nose is intense, but pleasurable. Sublimely medicinal, sweet grassy asphalt and heather. Hints of malmsey.The smoke is mixed with fruit making it a "sweet smoke" experience as you taste.
