Ayup, this is a beer from the South Yorkshire town that gave us such delights as Michael Parkinson, Kes, the Barnsley chop and, er, Arthur Scargill. And now Acorn Brewery is putting Barnsley on the beer map, winning some 40ish awards in just five years. This award winning golden beer pours into the glass a very nice clear, golden liquid with a bubbly, rather than creamy, white head. You can just get a slight aroma of citrus and hops but it isn't the most aromatic of beers. With good levels of bitterness combined with a well-hopped crispness. It's a light easy drinking beer with slight citrus/honey notes followed by a nicely balanced bitter finish
