Big top notes of candied apple, give mouth juice and awakening. The length is short, forcing assertion in detection like a quick fire quiz question. Challenge the norm, and make your self realise something different, or and add a bottle that states its own section within japanese blends within your collection. I think the subtly typifies the Japanese palate. Everything about this whisky is subtle. It has a light colour, subtle flavors and a quick finish. This is a subtle whisky which partly explains the mixed ratings, as subtlety is by its very nature easy to miss. I personally thought it is a superb blending of complex umami elements with sweetness and saltiness. It is smooth and short lived, but beautifully balanced and quite complex if you taste it closely
