Dupont Monk's Stout is a Belgian-style stout brewed by Brasserie Dupont in Tourpes, Belgium. Though originally produced in the 1950s, the brewery revived the recipe in 2011 to celebrate its heritage. A very dark, jet-black beer with a fluffy, tan-coloured head. It offers a complex, dry and bitter profile that deviates from the sweetness often found in English stouts. The use of special roasted malts delivers well-pronounced notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee, which are balanced by a consistent freshness from citrusy hop aromas. On the palate, it is characterized by a clean, marked bitterness and a lively, highly carbonated mouthfeel, leading to a long, dry finish that can sometimes exhibit hints of herbal complexity, liquorice, or a slight smokiness.
