A Barley Wine style Ale Benedictus pours a hazy amber colour, an immense head, rocky; beautiful lace. Very nice hop aroma, with notes of caramel, wood, alcohol, and berries herbal spicy malt tones with hints of fruit on a wave of alcohol. Smooth and very well balanced. Lovely grassy hop on the flavour balanced perfectly with the malt and fruit. Gently warming alcohol, not overpowering. Works really well. Good mouth, with some notes of caramel, wood, alcohol but with a mainly malty body with some apple and orange notes - and more alcohol, still quite sweet and a finish that becomes long and dry and bitter. Alcohol is evident in the aftertaste but not very intense. Awesome!
