Durham White Stout 50cl
Durham Brewery Alabaster (White Stout). Two hundred years ago, before the porter brewers commandered "stout" to mean stout or strong porter, a stout beer was a strong beer. It did not have to be black. Durham have re-created the style using modern hops and a full malt body.Tasting Notes: Maris Otter malt and Columbus hops combine to make a very drinkable strong ale, it won't quite have the body of a stout because that would have lots of roasts which give it body and colour. Durham use pale malt, wheat malt and flaked barley, so I'ts filled it out. A fresh, full beginning gives way to a spicy, bittersweet finish. Recommendations Drink on its own so that its rich complexity is fully appreciated. For a full development of character keep for at least six months.
