Barley exclusively from the Atlantic facing Rockside Farm on the west coast of Islay has been used for the latest expression of Bruichladdich Islay Barley adding more depth to the range. Wonderfully nose fresh with barley notes and honey coming through, coastal flowers, jasmine and sea breeze. Viscous, thick and juicy, without being too oily either. Everything is balanced so well, and with an astounding texture it's tough to pick apart when one flavour ends and another begins: Caramelised apples, baking spices, crème anglaise, honey and lemon, heather, honeysuckle with hints of brine never too far away. Mouth filling. Finish with vanilla, citrus and creamy barley.
