Bradfield Farmers Stout 50cl

Pours deep brown in colour, with a pale tan creamy head that shows good retention. Initial aromas of lightly bitter-sweet walnut and roasted malts upfront, typical of an English stout. Everything else is hidden below, apart from a nice edge of floral hops. On tasting a rich flavour of liquorice, roast-nuts and treacle's come on top, followed by a buttery taste and a wine like fruitiness (as of black berries, plums and grapes mixed together)... slowly the tannic and dried tea-leafy bitterness prevails, leading to a semi-dry and hoppy finish. Pretty light-bodied for a stout and slightly thin on the texture, but benefitting from the support of a good amount of hops.
