Tomintoul 10 year old Malt is a pleasant Speysider from faithful workhorse distillery Tomintoul, a relatively modern distillery, having been built in 1964-65. The distillery is owned by the independent company Angus Dundee Distillers. One of the lightest Speyside malts. A grassy, perfumy whisky. Nose: Intense and sharp. Slightly spirity. Leafy. Fern. Cherry trifle. White pepper. Palate: Enveloping and warm. Velvety. Cream fudge. A lot of spices. Nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper. Finish: Long-lasting. Warm. Gently vanishing with almonds and nuts. Comment: Quite a muscular Speysider. The perfect dram to buck you up after a woodland walk mushroom-picking on a cold November day
