New Zealand Monteiths Lager 33cl

Montheith's richly hopped original ale delivers a full, round and complete beer flavour. It's the hops that dominate aroma and taste. However, on closer inspection, there's a subtle blackberry aroma which originates from the female flowers of the Pacific Gem Hops. Monteiths Lager pours a clear reddish / brown colour, with an off-white head with small densely packed bubbles, not bad head retention and slight lacing. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of caramel and fruit. Taste is slightly sweet, malty, smooth, with a middle bitterness. Short bitter finish. Slightly watery mouth feel that seemed right for this type of ale and the right amount of carbonation. Overall a solid easy to drink brew, one thing ill say about kiwi beers, they use some of the best water in the world, so no matter what the standard of beer your drinking from N.Z. they are always crisp and clean.
