A full-bodied, bottom-fermented smoked red lager brewed by the historic Schlenkerla in Bamberg, this expression marks an innovative departure from traditional Franconian brewing by marrying a historic regional beer style with an uncommon wood-smoking technique. On the nose, the beer bypasses the heavy, bacon-like punch of a classic beechwood smoke, offering instead a delicate, fruity and sweet smoke aroma. It pours a beautiful, clear copper-red color in the glass. The palate is exceptionally smooth and multi-layered, where the sweet-toasted malt profile seamlessly merges with the cherry wood smoke. Thanks to the addition of select aroma hops, the mid-palate introduces bright berry notes that beautifully balance the sweeter smoke elements, concluding with a clean, crisp, and refreshing finish
