This Flemish Red Ale is an historic Belgian beer from Bruges, renowned for its unique mixed fermentation process. It is a quintessential example of the Flemish blending tradition, created by combining a top-fermented brown ale with spontaneously fermented lambic that has matured in oak barrels for many months. Pours a deep, clear red-brown colour topped with a rich, creamy off-white or beige head. The beer offers a complex interplay of sweet and sour flavors. On the nose, you will find malty aromas with notes of raisin, plum, and cherry. The palate is characterized by soft, fruity dominant notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and red fruits, balanced by a refreshing, gentle tartness and mild acidity from the lambic. It concludes with a rich, creamy finish and moderate carbonation.
