Diplomatico Mantuano 70cl

Mantuano is an excellent blended rum aged for up to eight years in white oak casks, which previously served to age bourbons and malt whisky. Deep and luxurious nose at first delivering coffee, chocolate and orange cake, then with time in the glass maple syrup and spice notes begin to dominate. The palate shows restrained sweetness amid a plethora of dark chocolate and milk-coffee like flavours, the maple ebbs and flows. Throughout, a fruity/floral undertone keeps the palate fresh. A feather-weight spicy surge at the finish follows through to a long, drying, light chocolate & orange-cake aftertaste with hints of hay emerging. So clean and relaxed. Delicious on its own or dedicated to upmarket cocktails
