Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel pours an impenetrable, deep mahogany brown with dark ruby highlights and a thick, creamy tan head. On the nose, it offers a warm, comforting aroma of freshly baked rye bread, sweet toffee, and toasted malts, accented by subtle dark fruit undertones like raisins and plums. The palate is dominantly malt-forward but remarkably clean, delivering rich flavors of milk chocolate, warm molasses, and roasted nuts without being overly heavy. It features a medium, smooth mouthfeel with crisp carbonation, finishing with a gentle, earthy bitterness from German noble hops and an elegant, lingering note reminiscent of premium espresso
