The Great Newsome Brewery is situated on the East Yorkshire Coast, run by the Hodgson family at Great Newsome Farm. Pricky Back Otchan Ale is the second of the original brews, its a hoppy amber bitter, whose bitterness is the marriage of both pilgrim and northern brewer Hops and the addition of cascade give it a subtle aroma, of which citrus is noticable. No dry finish here, the addition of crystal malt, aid with the depth of flavour and amber colour. A bitter of the highest order and one which sits well with a hearty stew or casserole and not just as an apperetif but can be used as an alternative to stock. Pricky Back Otchan is for those who prefer a more robust ale.
