(Jura) Isle of Jura 12 year old Malt Whisky 70cl

Distilled on the eponymous Inner Hebridean island, this expression was initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before being moved over to Oloroso sherry casks for a finishing period. The result blends the distillery's characteristic gently smoky character with sweetness, spice and dark fruit. Nose: Light sherry finish, with marzipan, almonds, soft fruits, and with that hint of citrus. Taste: Full bodied rich in fruits, with that hint of oranges lingering on. Finish: Lingering, fruity. The whisky is generally lighter than its big brothers from the south of Islay, although some of the mature bottlings from the distillery are exceptional in their complexity
