Cuba Palma Cristal Lager 33cl

Palma Cristal Lager is from Tinima Brewery which is the largest of six breweries in Cuba, and is undergoing modernisation in order to keep up with the demand in Europe. The label on the bottle proudly displays the flash: "Cerveza de Cuba" over an appealing photo of palm trees, and there is the appeal. Stick a photo of Fidel Castro and his beard on the back and they would no doubt triple the production. Palma Cristal Lager pours a light transparent gold colour, with a decent amount of head. The taste is light and effervescent, with a crisp, clean taste. The first gulp is quite soft and creamy with butter hints and a fragrant hop aroma, reasonable long lasting flavour. The flavour is so simple, yet it just puts a smile on your face with a sweet lemon grass finish. The lighter bodied beer is definitely not a quaffer, but a high quantity beer for the masses (about 80% of Cuba). Very very Drinkable!
