Springbank 10 year old Malt Whisky is a worthy replacement for the previous cask vatting, another complex Campbeltown beauty. The colour is pale gold. The nose, very "Springbank" is charming (strawberry and vanilla hints), but are dominated by some pleasant spicy touches, sweet fruit, leather, dried grass and light toffee. Palate: A smooth sweet start then a blast of flavour dried herb, salt spray, smoke, moss, toffee apple. Finish: Mint toffee. Hot peppermint. Late saltiness on the front of the tongue. Extraordinarily long, some coconut. Comment: A good bottle, but not to compare to other products which made the reputation of Springbank, one of the last distilleries from Campbeltown.
