(Jura) Isle of Jura Superstition Malt Whisky 70cl
Isle of Jura Superstition Malt Whisky is a union of two Jura malt whisky styles, one bold, strong and peated, the other warm and delicate. This innovative malt Scotch whisky is created from the marriage of traditional Islay style peated barley and a selection of aged malts. The result is a first in malt whisky and a sensational new taste experience for drinkers. Nose: Immediate peatiness. Turfy rather than marine. Phenolics, macadamia nut, horchata. Light meaty note. Sweet centre. Palate: Light smoke lying above firm, young grassy, notes. beech nuts, heather. Silky feel. Smooth and soft. Sweetness thickens mouthfeel and taste. Nutty. Wood is there, not dominating. Finish: Good length. Drifting smoke. Slightly spicy, sweet. Liquorice. Comment: This seems to have the peatiness more to the fore than in the past.
