An Cnoc 12 year old Malt Whisky from Inver House distillery. It's single malt has been renamed An Cnoc in 1994 to avoid any confusion with the famous Knockando. Nose: Fragrant and soft with lemon sherbet, apple blossom. Long and soft. Palate: Soft with creamy notes. Lightly syrupy. Herbal, slightly minty. The fragrant spirit and the (apple) wood in superb balance. Attractive and delightful. Finish: Hint of cloves. Warming. Soothing. Very long. A pale, shimmery gold dram with flavours one expects from a bigger, darker, whisky. Slightly odd, but enjoyable. Lifted and aromatic. Who said malt whisky had to be all about smoke and bluster?
