Auchentoshan 12 year old Malt Whisky. The Distillary Auchentoshan is one of the last active distilleries in the Lowlands. A great part of its production is dedicated to blenders, also used in the Rob Roy blend. Appearance: Surprisingly dark Copper. Nose: Straight nose is round and full. Appetizing. Cola like scents with a whiff of liquorice. Balanced saltiness and sweetness. Earthy scents blend with pear-mints. Reduced nose lends some more citric hints. Quite complex and balanced aromas. Cereal, ester, woody, winery and feint hints mix in a very interesting nose. Body: Medium light Palate: Some liquorice carries over, otherwise! some pretty fruity and winery. A little bran with almonds. The finish is long and sweet. Very pleasant dram altogether - as might be expected from a classic Lowlander.
