Cachaça is the national spirit of Brazil and the key ingredient in the caipirinha, a traditional cocktail. Cachaça is made from sugar cane plant like rum. The major difference is rum is usually made from molasses, a by-product from refineries that boil the cane juice to extract as much sugar crystals as possible. Cachaca is made from fresh sugarcane juice that's fermented and distilled. Germana, a traditional Cachaça, aged 2yrs in oak barrels for a unique and distinctive taste of Brazil's most popular drink, second only to beer. The bottle is wrapped in sugar cane leaves for a unique presentation.
