Delirium Nocturnum 33cl

Delirium Nocturnum is a dark companion to Huyghe's Delirium Tremens. It pours a deep chestnut colour, with a white head that soon subsides to lace, leaving plenty of effervescence and a sweetish herbal-fruity scent, with a trace of hops. The palate is sweetish with a malty, cakey quality and cough-candy flavours, and a texture that's syrupy on the lips, lifted by some lightening hops. There are more hops in the finish, with the beer developing some roasty, coffee-like flavour, though the bitterness never becomes pronounced. Delirium Nocturnum is a sweet beer with a lightness of touch that prevents it from becoming cloying despite its strength, an enjoyable and sippable beer.
