Thatchers Oak Matured Cider is aged in rum barrels and has a smooth flavour and subtle aroma. For centuries traditional cider has been matured in oak barrels, but barrels previously used for rum impart a distinct touch of demerara to the cider as it matures. Thatchers has made fine cider in Somerset for over 100 years. Crafted using freshly pressed English apples, many of our traditional ciders are based on authentic recipes and matured in oak. Today these complement the new, refreshingly different drinks in Thatchers' award winning range
