(Weissebier) Erdinger Heffe Weisse 50cl
The Erdinger Brewery in Germany is said to be the biggest producer of wheat beer in the world. Erdinger Heffe Weisse is very pale and pours with the characteristic high-rise, fine-bubbled, long-lasting head. On the nose there the light yeasty base has some good coriander and the traditional clove, its nicely complimented with banana and peach notes. On the tongue Erdinger is quite lively and bitter, but refreshing. Spicy and fruity flavours are present but subtle, a little like vanilla ice cream with a hint of cloves and oranges. The vanilla and wheat flavours continue into the shortish, slightly bitter aftertaste. A good example of the style, a pleasant and refreshing beer
