Hogs Back OTT 'Old Tongham Tasty' beer has the distinctive Hogs Back bitter hops taste, but well matched here with a stout-like roasted barley flavour. Pours a very dark reddish-amber colour with a small fluffy tanned head. A complex aroma, composed of toasted malt, sweet fruits, coffee and liquorice. Hogs Back OTT has a robust bitter-sweet flavour, Medium body with some roasted malt and then these incredibly delicate flavours of dried fruit without excessive sweetness. There is a port-like fruitiness in the background which adds depth and complexity to a very satisfying dark ale. In style this falls somewhere between a stout and an old ale. A good example of a strong dark ale.
