Kasteel Rouge 33cl

Kasteel Rouge pours a deep, ruby-red colour, a frothy head with pinkish hues that leaves some foamy lacing. Smells strongly of cherries with a little bit of that yeastiness common to most Belgian beers. The cherry smell is much more pronounced than it usually is in most other cherry-flavoured beers. It's quite nice actually...With almost no bitterness to it at all, this beer is all cherries. Strong flavour throughout with a slight yeastiness at the end. Has a slight alcohol edge to it. Reminds me a bit of a stronger Lindemans Kriek. Crisp and refreshing mouthfeel with a surprising amount of body to it. A highly drinkable and highly enjoyable Belgian fruit beer. While it's not a lambic, its flavours certainly bring that to mind. I could definitely see this beer appealing to non-beer drinkers.
