Some years ago De Bortoli acquired unique parcels of very old fortified wines from Rutherglen in Victoria and the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Combined with our substantial existing stocks, De Bortoli has one of the most extensive collections of aged material maturing in barrel in Australia. Old Boys is drawn from these reserves and blended to an average age of 21 years. With an average age of 21 years, more youthful components in the final blend freshen and balance the much older components from our aged reserves. Appearance. Deep toffee with golden hues. Bouquet. Complex mocha and aged rancio notes on the nose. Palate. Luscious with complex nut and aged rancio flavours and firm drying finish.
