The Teaninich distillery is located a little north of Inverness, not far from the Dalmore distillery. As a single malt whisky Teaninich is quite obscure because. Diageo has always used most of the output as a 'filler' for their blends. Consequentially, bottlings of Teaninich as a single malt are quite rare. Nose: Intense and robust, Aromatic and fruity. Earthy and smoky. Toffee, orange peel. Sandal wood. Wood polish. Restrained sherry notes. Body Medium, rich. Palate: Sweet but tangy too. Fruity, remarkably leafy, lightly peaty. Full expression of sherry: lots of oak, burnt wood, citrus fruit and spices. Very appetising. Finish: Dry, oaky and nutty. leafy, herbal, complex
