Brazilian Cachaça, (pronounced kah-sha-sah), has been distilled from fermented sugar cane juice since 1543 when the process was developed at one of the first sugar cane mills near the port of Santos, Sao Paulo, by Erasmus Scheltz, a Swiss immigrant. ideal for cocktails such as the Caipirinha or Batida.
