Danzy Jones Wysgi Licor Awarded a Seal by the International Spirits Challenge in 2005 and winner of a True Taste Award in 2007, Wales' only old style mellow whisky liqueur uses a traditional recipe of working folk. Danzy Jones was a journeying stonemason, born in the 1870's, who prepared his toddy in the time-honoured fashion and consumed it over the weeks as he travelled on his work. Danzy Jones is produced from a mellow Malt whisky smoothed with burnished fruit and herbs. For centuries, the country folk of the southern Marches - the borderland between England and Wales - have produced exhilarating drinks derived from the bountiful fruits of the Wye and Usk valleys. The recipes were medicinal spirit-based drinks. Commonly called cordials, from the Latin 'cor' for heart, they were taken as pick-me-ups and stimulants prior to the more modern custom of being employed as social drinks
