A limited edition bottling of Irish whisky, bottled to celebrate the the 250th anniversary of the Old Kilbeggan Distillery and held to mark the re-start of distillation at Kilbeggan . (Ireland's smallest and newest distillery). This is a small batch bottling and is therefore a limited edition to 1,000 bottles. Nose Full and thick with decent intensity. American oak: hot sawdust, cherry, spices. Sugared almond. Quite bourbon-like. Vanilla, maple syrup, and even a suggestion of menthol. Ice cream and fudge sauce. Palate Sweet with banana and coconut to the fore. Ripe with just sufficient grip. A drop of water brings out the grass, giving it a fragrant edge. Finish Medium. Comment Proof (if it were needed) that Cooley is a serious player. Awards, Gold Medal and Best in Class at the IWSC 2008 and 'World's Best Irish Blend' at the World Whiskies Awards
