Secret Stills 4.4 1989 Malt Whisky is a special bottling from the oldest distillery on Islay, situated on the shores of Loch Indaal. This whisky is from a sherry hogsheads,cask number 7052, 7054, 7058 & 7059. distilled on September 1989. Bottled by Gordon and MacPhail in Elgin in March 2007 as part of the successful Secret Stills series. TASTING NOTE Colour: Pale gold. Nose:Soft peaty notes interwined with a sweet brine. Sherry sweetness is present. A pleasant nose. Palate: More prominent peat. Spicy - reminiscent of white pepper. Sherry influence Finish: Long. With Water. Nose: Sweet with a delicate seaweed note. Defined vanilla note with strong sherry influence. Palate: Initially hot - mouth warming. Subtle peat comes to the fore with a delicate sweetness. Finish: Medium
