Old Grand Dad Bourbon Nose: Straw, allspice, oak, corn, and a slight clove. Vanilla and oak are predominant along with rye. Bright and spicy. Like a really old caremel apple that has sat on top of the stove and gotten half-baked a few dozen times from the warm stove-top. Taste: Fresh cut hay, straw-like vanilla, medium viscosity, cleansing to the palate, with a firm burn. Prickling spices with a mildly tannic tongue assault. Sweetness and Wood arrives mid-palete, not too much smoke, the grains full and well-integrated though. Ethanol tangs throughout Good solid bourbon flavour. Finish: Moderate to long finish that is very balanced between the spice and the corn sweetness. A smooth and pleasing mouth coating is left behind
