Pellegrino Marsala is one of Sicily's shining lights, Pellegrino produce Marsala that is far too good to be confined to the recipe books. Aromas of caramel, nuts and toasted wood lead to a rich, sweet palate followed by a lingering, clean finish. Serve slightly chilled and revel in all its luscious, opulent complexity. The grapes were sourced from vines with an average age of 25 years grown on clay and limestone soils. This Marsala is a blend of sugar rich 'Mistella' - made by adding alcohol to the must of partially fermented, late harvested grapes - and a number of specially selected DOC table wines. The wine was aged for over 4 years in oak casks prior to bottling.
