Blanche des Honelles pours with a decent rocky head. The nose catches a snap of melon and pineapple, slightly musty, then the mouth tingles with fruits melting into barley sugar. Blanche des Honelles is one of most exciting wheat beers I have yet come across, perhaps because oats and barley are also used. The added oats and the higher than normal alcohol content give it a slightly different character, and more body than others in this style. The water comes from the well that belonged to the old abbey. Very nice!
