Highland Park 8 year old Malt Whisky MacPhails Bottling. Nose: Strong sea aromas. Waxy and quite perfumed. Kumquat, honey, malt, bracken, tea and honey. Palate: Soft, gentle and creamy. Light smoke. Floral with apricot jam and light fruit. Soft-centred sweetness. Salt. Ground white pepper sandy. Waterlogged driftwood. Sulphury notes. Finish: Tickle of smoke. Fresh. Comment: Only eight years old, but a seasoned sea-salt. A return to form for the independent youngster. All you expect from this always classy performer.
