(Speyside Central) Knockando 12 year old Malt Whisky 70cl

Knockando 12 year old Malt Whisky was distilled in 1987 and mellowed by ageing in barrels previously used to age bourbon, diluted to 40% abv before bottling in 1999. A large proportion of the distilleries production goes into the J&B blended whisky.
Nose: Intense. Freshly sawn oak. Hint of resin. Malty notes hardly break through. Touch of fruit, syrupy peaches. Light and nutty/malty with some green pear, straw, dry spices. Estery and crisp. Palate: Equally light and nutty with a touch of milk chocolate in the mid-palate. Soft, easy and ultra-clean. Finish: Soft and pleasant almondy flavours with a touch of dryness. Comment: Simple, attractive and easy-drinking.
