(Speyside Devron) Glen Deveron 10 year old Malt Whisky 70cl

Glen Deveron 12 year old Malt Whisky is the official bottling from the Macduff distillery. You can find some bottlings from independent bottlers under the name Macduff. The Macduff distillery was established by the Glen Deveron Distillers Ltd in 1962. It was sold 12 years later to the Bacardi group. Nose: Very malty (malt loaf spread thickly with butter) with a slightly slick caramel/peanut brittle note. Water brings out floor wax and honey. Palate: Juicy red grapes to start then it's nuts, some spice. Soft and slightly sweet mid-palate Firm, assertive malty notes. A touch of orange peel. Finish: Nice balance of estery, lemony fruitiness and a drying touch of peat. Comment: Slightly less richness and wood-extract than with which I am more familiar, the nose simple marked by the malt sweetness. The palate is light, but full, just like the nose. The finish is dryer, and not too long.
