Bladnoch Malt Whisky 1991 70cl

Bladnoch Malt Whisky 1991 bottled 2007. The Lowland whiskies are not famous for their complexity, but this bottle is the exception to the rule. All the sweetness of a Lowland, Nose: Mouthwatering. Florist shop: lily, freesia, then comes apple: blossom/ sweet eating apple. Fragrant with a light malty note. Palate: Delicate but vibrant with good feel and a fresh natural ripeness. Sweeter than expected. Floral. Orange blossom. With water, honeyed cereal bowl. Orchard fruit, boiled sweets, gentle oak. Good balance. An expected floral Lowland freshness. Finish: Lightly dry. Warms up on a gingery and peppery tanginess. A pleasant toasted hazelnut come back. Comment: Proof that a whisky can be delicate yet complex
