Royal Brackla Malt Whisky 1991 bottled 2007. The distillery was closed from 1985 to 1991, but is currently operational again, its current owner, Dewars, belonging to Bacardi-Martini. The main part of the production is used in blends like Dewars, Johnnie Walker Gold Label and Bisset's Finest Old. Nose: Sherry notes with herbal, earthy aromas. Fruit notes with limes, melon and pears all present. Hints of charred wood. Palate: Sweet, sherry flavours combine with a rich spiciness (liquorice sticks) traces of new leather and some sweet caramel flavours. With water: Nose: Sherry aromas dominate. Sweet fruit and earthy aromas present with a subtle smoky note. Palate: Sweet, sherrywood flavours. Hints of aniseed with a sweet, nutty element. Some dry, charred notes develop. Body: Medium, rounded. Finish: Sherry notes. Cask type: Refill Sherry Casks. Style: A rich, flavoursome Highland malt
