Glenury Royal Malt Whisky 1984 Nose: Fresh and briny, younger than its great age. A delicate hint of sherry adds extra weight, as does a wisp of smoke. Palate: Fat and fabulously textured: acacia honey and fruity maltiness. A subtle peatiness adds an extra, unexpected dimension. Finish: Enormously long and increasingly spicy. Great complexity of vanilla, peat and enormous malt richness. Comment: Stated as being among the best low-peated Rare Malt bottlings of all time. Glenury Royal was founded in 1825 near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire in the Eastern Highlands by Captain Robert Barclay. The name of the distillery was taken from the nearby Glen in the district of Ury
