Glen Mhor Malt Whisky 1980 26yr old (pronounced ôGlen Vawrö) was the first Scottish distillery to convert from traditional floor maltings to mechanical maltings. closely linked to that of the nearby Glen Albyn distillery. The distillery was closed in 1983. Nose: Lashings of vanilla, with citrus, figs and apricots followed by dark chocolate and maltiness. Palate: Soft, creamy vanilla soon extends with dark chocolate, luscious orange marmalade and apricots, seasoned with spice, becoming richer. Finish: Luscious, juicy fruit subsides to make way for chocolate maltiness. Sweet lemons. Gently appetising. Warming. Comment: Waltzes across the palate with grace and impeccable timing, even when the tempo rises.
