(Eastern Highland) Glen Garioch Malt Whisky 12 year old 70cl

Glen Garioch 12 year old Malt Whisky is an East Highland malt from Aberdeenshire. The 'Aberdeen malt' maybe? Very drinkable whisky with lots of varied flavours. Nose Incense-like. Perfumy. Parma violets. Heather. Slightly salty, a sprinkling of smoke, mint, sage and other herbal notes. Palate: Quite rich. Starts malty, but becomes drier. More spicy. Spanish root. The flavour just keeps on developing. Finish More emphatic spiciness and peat. The thick layer of peat and pepperiness softens the earlier start. A biscuity maltiness adds charm. Comment Less robust, more rounded. A beautiful dram which is elegant and delicate, but still has a lovely texture and is full of flavour.
