De Troch Chapeau Fraises ( strawberry ) 25cl

Chapeau Fraise from De Troch Brewery pours a strawberry reddish brown colour into the glass and had a cloudy chill haze to it. Decently carbonated in the beginning then progressively lost carbonation as it poured and sat in the glass. Chapeau Fraise has aromas of big strawberries other citrus notes, light pears, some wheat and hints of yeast. Very tart & tangy on the palate, and much sweeter than other lambics. fresh strawberries, strawberry juice, light citrus, and some hints of wood in the back. In spite of how tart the beer is, sugary sweet dominates from start to finishThe yeast character is there, but much less than others of the style. Chapeau Fraise is fairly light, but a smooth drinker nonetheless. As always, a great deal of added (and natural) sugar results in a full, viscous mouthfeel. A very juice beer and makes a good dessert beer.
